Anne Pickard -
Diploma in Counselling MBACP PGCE BA (Hons)
I will not be shocked by secrets or worries you may struggle with. I offer empathy and understanding, but also explanations based on my knowledge of different therapeutic theories, so that you can gain a better understanding of yourself and your feelings.
Counselling success, I find, is closely linked to the quality of the relationship established between myself and my client and building a good rapport with the people I work with is central to my work.
I work from a peaceful room, situated on the edge of Purdown, but also close to the M32 and easily accessible from Bristol city centre. There are a number of buses that stop close by and there is also free parking in the street. I try to provide affordable counselling as I recognise that these are difficult economic times for many people and I offer a free 30 minute introductory counselling session.
I am a university qualified counsellor and have experience of working in several different counselling agencies in Bristol. I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and on the BACP Register, and closely adhere to their Code of Ethics. I have quite a varied background which includes teaching, advocacy, advice work and video making.
I am very sorry but at the moment my practice room is up one flight of stairs and so not wheelchair accessible. I do my best to accommodate people with disabilities and am very happy to talk about how I can make my practice accessible to you.
